| | | Re: Need help buying a camera I think Mike has summed up the things you have to think about very well. I can add only one other thing. There is also weight to consider. I belong to a Photography forum where most folks have DSLRs and lots of kit, but a number are also considering getting a decent smaller camera just because the full DSLR kit is heavy.

remember with a digital APS-C sensor that gives an effect mag of 1.5 over a 35mm sixed sensor - so a 300mm lens is equivalent to a 450mm
