tokina 11-16mm wide angle lens

Does anbody use this lens and has anybody tried it for close up shots of fungi etc,or landscae shots I have read that its closest focus point is 12 inches .I am thinking i might get this lens as it has good reviews from what i have read . I have a d300s camera.

The Tokina has the worst macro ratio in that bunch it seems.
Perhaps it has been updated since that comparison was done though.

If I were buying from that comparison alone, I would go for the sig 10-20mm f/4-5.6 or f/3.5.

This review gives it a reasonable rating Tokina AF 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro DX (Canon) - Review / Lens Test Report although looking at their sharpness score, there is quite a drop off towards the edges at 16 mm.
