| | | Re: nikon d300s Advice Naturenutz the best way to learn how to use a D300 is to use the tutorials on utube they are the best and qickest way other than to get somone to show you face to face. I have the book mastering the D300 which is also good in a slow burn way. |

| | | Re: nikon d300s Advice Thanks cumbria,i may look at that tutorial. So many options .I have used the camera mainly in manual mode for macro.Getting good shots now,but had difficulty with auto focus using my sigma macro lens.Happy to use manual but i maybe not getting the best from the auto focus, still early days and still plenty of functions to learn alot better, lots of playing to do..Also for macro i am finding i dont use the viewing screen like i did on the compact i had previously used.i tend to use the viewfinder.i cant put a finger on why yet although the d300s allows better photo.s,the size of the camera plus lens inhibits you a little like the compact never . Still i guess thats the trade off for quality .Will be looking for a good wide angle lens for landscapes when i can save the pennies |

Hmmm.. the wide angle question.
I was thinking Nikkor 10.24mm or the Tokina 11.16mm. But the choice is very tricky I have been pondering it for ages. I do have the nikkor 18..200m which is ok for landscapes but not specialist and has its limits. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
