| | | Re: Camera rucksacks? I find the Mini Trekker works fine for me; Canon 40D with Sigma 150-500 and 180 macro as standard kit.
I normally remove the smaller divisions and just use the two long ones, slightly reshaped.
If you strap a tripod to the outside, tighten the elastic well otherwise it does bounce a bit. Pull the bag side straps tight as well.
With all those straps buckles and elastic it does look a bit like a piece of S&M kit (so I'm told) but I find it very comfortable to walk with; even on rough tracks. |

| | | Re: Camera rucksacks? Hello all,
I am looking to purchase a rucksack to some hiking later in the year. I currently own a Canon 450d and kit lens and a Sigma 120-400mm, and am looking at buying a Sigma 150mm macro and a monopod. I am looking for a rucksack that has enough space to carry this equipment in addition to things like waterproofs, lunch etc.
From looking on the internet it is difficult to attain the amount of space given to non photographic equipment, and no camera shops near have a wide range of rucksacks.
Could anyone suggest a suitable rucksack that I can then research further?
Many thanks, Matt. |

| | | Re: Camera rucksacks? You can't go wrong with the Lowepro Minitrekker really. I can comfortably fit a Nikon D300 with Bigma attached, plus my nikon 17-55 and my siggy 105mm macro lens in the little compartments down the side. The straps are nice and comfy too, and I've worn it on some pretty long walks without too many ill effects
The only downside I came across was when I went on a wildlife photography workshop at Slimbridge, and everyone else had one, so we all had to check we had the right gear inside before wandering off Unfortunately I didn't manage to "accidentally" wander off with one containing a Nikon D3s.... | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
