| | | Re: Canon 7D with sigma 150mm problem I used to get an error 99 message occasionally on my old 30D indicating that the connection between the lens and camera was playing up, but only when I used an external flashgun. So it does seem as though a flash can cause strange problems on occasions.
I hope you like your 7D Graham

Matt | Thanks Matt, I'm sure I will. Thanks to Roger I already know the AF is far superior to the 40D and that's the main reason I've bought one.
Now I'm considering a new lens. I'm undecided between another 400mm F5.6, or go the whole hog and get a 300mm F2.8.
Min you if my health doesn't improve it'll be a long time before I can use anything much. |

| | | Re: Canon 7D with sigma 150mm problem Well I have tried the 40D and the 7D with the Sigma 150 and flash today and not had any problems at all.
I'm also happy with the results I got from the 7D with the Sigma today. Guess as Graham said I must have been a bit rusty with the Sigma as it's a while since I used it and I was possibly trying for shots that weren't really on.
I'm convinced it is the flash that causes the problems with the 7D although as I said no problems at all today. I will post some of the shots in the Gallery later and also reply to your e-mail Graham |

Glad it's working OK, and your happier with the results. No doubt when they're loaded they'll be up to your usual high standard. |

To be honest the photos I took today with the 7D were better than with the 40D.
I think it was a combination of me trying to get near impossible shots, being a little out of practice with the macro and also a little bit of doubting my own ability to take a good macro shot with the 7D. Anyway after today my confidence in the camera and my own ability to get the best out of it has been restored. |

Been out with the 7D and 150mm all day and it's behaved perfectly even using the flash every time. |
