Sigma 120-300 F2.8 Question

Hello all.

I have a EOS body Sigma 120-300 F2.8 which I use for motorsport as well as wildlife photography.

Its a big bit of glass but recently I have noticed its slower to focus that previously.

Its been in my bag all winter and I havent used it really since last summer, but its concerning me.

Any ideas?

If your sure it's actually slower than it was before, not just you've realised the lens perhaps doesn't focus as well as you hoped, then I'd recommend you send it in for servicing. Always worth speaking direct with Sigma first as I've found them to be very helpful. They did two repairs for me free of charge even though the lens was out of warranty.
The reason for my first comment was that I had one of these for a week and it was hopeless. Focusing was a joke, but the shots I got with it proved the lens must have been faulty so that may have been one of the reasons the focusing appeared so bad. I've also read reviewers who complain about the focusing speed so the lens does have form in this area.
