Wildlife photography in Nepal

Later this year we're going to Nepal for a while on holiday, travelling around. Including going to the southern part, which has various wildlife parks, also going trekking up in the mountains.

Anyone been there and got any advice, either about places to go or kit to take? My longest lens will be a 70-300mm as I figure anything bigger will be too heavy to lug around for several weeks (we may have to carry ALL our gear with us for days at a time - no option to leave it at a hotel).

I'm thinking that a camera bag that seals well (e.g. with zip) will be important to keep out dust. Also we're going at the tail end of the monsoon, so a waterproof cover will be important (probably supplemented by another waterproof bag for the camera bag to go inside!
