| | | 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S VR DX Nikkor Zoom Lens Hi All
18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S VR DX Nikkor Zoom Lens is the kit lens for the Nikon D90 which is the camera I am upgrading to (from a D50), I am torn between buying body only or going with the above kit lens, at present I use a low end Sigma 18-50 3.5-5.6 on the D50. Main interest's are pastoral/landscape. Is the above lens any good or should I hold off and look at other lens.
Thanks in advance |

But when I upgraded to my D300 I treated myself to the 16-85mm f3.5-5.6G VR ED AF-S DX. I went for that lens for two reasons: - Bearing in mind the sensor crop factor a couple of millimeters extra at the wide end can be quite useful at times
- As I already owned the 80-400 I'd be duplicating any focal length above 80
The 16-85 is twice the price and, usually, the more you pay the better the lens. Don't know if that's true in this case though.

well I read all the reviews I could find and came to the conclusions that most of the faults can be edited out in post edit if needed and secondly I would probably feel a bit peeved with having a reasonable camera with my old low end sigma on it.
