(though I also find they are not very attractive photos when taken at sea as there is so little to see above the water - and I've had more oppportunity than most with a daughter in South Africa who runs a whale watching business.)
Also I think Jim Ford is right about ratio of cost of glass to cost of camera - and the camera is more likely to get damaged rolling aoubt than the glass.
My expensive advice would be 300mm (ideally 400), giving you 480mm. |
