Lens Problem

As far as I understand it, converters do not affect minimum focus distance. If a 200mm lens will focus at 1mtr bare it will focus at 1mtr at 400mm (200mm+2x con.). Try one on a macro lens, extreme close up!

I've had it in the past where the converter & lens was not seated properly and caused the same error.

momji is right. converters do not affect minumum focus distances

it multiplies the maximum macro ratio by the amount it is converting (so a lens that does 1:1 will do 1.4:1 with a 1.4x converter) as the minimum distance is the same.
