I got the G1 I've only had a quick cheeky play before the battery is fully charged. But I'm already really happy with it. I thought long and hard about a Canon.... But decided that they're just bigger and heavier than I want. I thought that the panasonic was the one for me as I already know the menus etc and love the live view thing for macro work. I was worried that it wouldn't be that much better than the FZ30 but it is! Faster, less noisy and with a dedicated macro lens it's a definate improvement.
Weather permitting I shall take it for a walk on Sunday to see if I can get some good shots  |

I'm sure you'll love the G1. That screen is invaluable for macro work. I wish Canon would do one, if the 7D had that feature I'd have bought one by now. |
