Canon EOS 350D -v- 7D

Probably the main thing that put me off the 7D is paying extra for a video option which I don't want

The alternative, which I would consider, is the 50D. But if you think having a video option, although rather limited, is just what you want, then the 7D would be a good buy.

I'm currently using the 40D; but as Ollie said, they are all good cameras.

I wouldn't consider changing from a 40D to a 50D. Far too similar with little real benefit, of course other users will have other requirements so perhaps the differences are worth it to them.
Now the 7D is a different proposition, that improved AF tempts me. I nearly bought one last week, but I haven't suffered enough to buy one yet!

I caved in to temptation and bought a 7D this week after selling my 40D and a lens or two on Ebay

I've yet to test it properly but it does seem a very nice camera. I've never owned a 350D but I did have a 400D and there is a big difference. The camera feels in a different league to the xxxD series bodies and I'm looking forward to giving it a good test with my 400 f5.6.

I can't do that again Matt! I've already sold my 400mm F5.6, 2 TC's and my ring flash..
Mind you perhaps I should sell my 40D..No I can't foist that heap of rubbish on some other poor user.. (By that I mean my particular 40D, not the cameras in general.)
Now I've spent the money I raised by selling the gear, I'm seriously thinking of buying another 400mm F5.6!! Bonkers, that's what I am!

you're as bad as me Ebay makes this sort of thing too easy
