| | | Photography belt I was gifted £20 by Ebay today and fancy buying a photography belt which will make use of my MAS system components from Tamrac, allowing me to wear things like spare cards, batteries and a waterbottle, lenses etc on a belt as oppoosed to a rucksack.
At under £20 they sound great, and I rate Tamrac's other stuff highly.
Anyone had any experience of these?

| | | Re: Photography belt Ive used the lowe pro version (street and feild system) and it works fine (same with the harnesses etc)
there are two downsides tho
a) you have to keep all the pouches to your back and sides (which makes access difficult) otherwise you cant lay down to take low angle shots
and
b) it makes you look a total .....
I cant imagine b) causing you much bother (years of practice etc ...) but a) is the reason why i eventually stopped using the belt and went over to a rucksack - tho the best bet i find is to decide what you are going to photograph before you set out and travel light with just one spare lense.

The John Rambo of photography | if thats your aim you ought to get one of these rather than the simple belt.

on to the question......
I had the same idea but was put off by the lack of waterproofing. With the British climate I can imagine that this could be a problem.

Ian | thats true of any carrying system including most of the rucksacks - even the all weather versions arent fully watertight (excepting the peli cases)
with a belt, i suppose you could just put your waterproof over the top - which is what i used to do in the days that i used street and feild
