More filter advice needed

Hi Guys

I have a filter and a step up ring which seem to have fused together and are proving difficult to seperate. Its only been a week or so.

Any tips?

I fixed it.

The problem that I was having was as the two parts are only 46 and 49mm I could not get the purchase. A site suggested that I use the bottom of a training shoe for the grip, and it has done the trick.
