| | | Re: macro lens attatchment They can be quite hard to use to start with. you have to work around a very small DoF.
I've found that the best way to do it is to set the focusing so it's sharp at 20-30cm away from the lens, then carefully move the camera closer or further to bring the subject into focus.
If the subject is not moving, it is a good idea to take a couple at small apertures so you have some shots, then try taking a sequence, with a larger aperture, carefully moving the DoF in or out in every shot, so you have a sequence covering the whole subject, then you can use a free focus stacking program (like Zerene stacker) to combine these images into one with a large DoF. This only works when you have a subject that is very still for a long time and a tripod, but it lets you cover much more.
that is a combination of about 10 images
just suggesting a few techniques you may find useful when you buy something |

| | | Re: macro lens attatchment after much umming and arring and trying to work out which would be most suitable, i went for the DCR-250, as it was the more expensive and thus i presumed better quality. now i await its arrival, and will let u know how i get on with it

tom | You will end up loving it. Takes a bit of time to work out the DOF but the actual results are razor sharp
