| | | Nikon D300 - What a stunner! Just a quick update on my new camera/lens combo. After all of the excellent advice that you have all given me on the forum, I decided to go with the D300s and Nikon lens combination. I have to say that, although I'm still very much in the early 'fiddling' stage, I'm already blown away by this camera. As soon as I get some shots worth keeping, I'll try and upload them. Thanks again for all of your help guys! Wizzo
Ps - Should read Nikon D300 at top. I wasn't able to edit the title!

| | | Re: Nikon D300 - What a stunner! Thanks again guys. Dave, uploading shots is gonna be a real test for me mate lol. Richard, in the end I opted for the Nikkor 17-55 f2.8 and the 70-200 f2.8 VR1. I also got a Kenko 2x proplus converter. That was the most difficult decision really. In the end, I thought I would edge towards landscapes and my love of portrature. I'm guessing I may miss that little bit more reach of the Sigma though, when birding. I'm just gonna have to work harder at my stalking and camoflage!
Doxhope, I'm looking forward to hearing how you get on with your new 300mm too mate - Wizzo

I've had mine around a year I think now and haven't a single complaint.
Happy snapping!

I wouldn't dwell on the Sigma too much mate, compared to the two lenses you now have, it would be sure to disappoint I think. Start topping up the piggy bank again and wish for that Nikon 100-500mm next year |

I reckon she'd still look a bit tasty though DH, but then what's under the donkey jacket, that's what I want to know? | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
