For any of you that are interested in the Sony a5xx cameras, I have had the a550 for a couple of weeks now and am slowly getting used to it.
Not sure if the image quality is as good as the a350 I have been using but time will tell.
One thing I am quite pleased with on these dull days is the image quality using higher iso. It seems to be a lot better than the 350 in this respect.
I have been using it in iso auto which gives a range from 200 to 1600 iso.
With the high iso noise reduction set on normal it seems to keep quite acceptable feather detail up to 1600 iso which still gives a reasonable shutter speed even on these dull days.
A few sample shots,
GSW @ 200 iso.
Greenfinch @ 800 iso.
Cock Pheasant @ 1600 iso.
The Pheasant was taken on a very dull day during heavy rain.
I still have to get fully conversant with the camera and lots of experimenting to do but I am starting to enjoy it.
