Sigma 500 4.5 problem

Sorry to hear your still trying to get it to work. I know how frustrating it can be. I haven't forgot our meet, still waiting on the return of my lens from Japan.

The converter is:-

Kenko Teleplus PRO 300 DGX 1.4x Nikon AF Teleconverter £189

Its shows in the exif the true focal length (700mm) and app. F6.3 but works great still.

Sorry It's taking so long to meet up but it'll be the first thing I do when it comes back.

Hi Stu, This can be truly frustrating, not knowing what the real problem is. But your reply is a help. I am using a Kenko PRO300 DG 1.4x (not DGX). Do you think that is the problem? I see on ebay the DGX can be had for less than £100 from HK. Also the cameras I have are Nikon D200 and D90. I believe you use the D300? I could get that if necessary. I think it has better AF system. Mifsuds camera shop has offered me £2000 for the Sigma (its hardly used) in PX for a Nikon 500 f4! But its still a payout of some £3700. I could just about afford it, but cant justify it..... But, if I get the same hardware as you are using, it must AF ok? I use it mostly in the garden, not great distances but still find that 700mm is very useful. Thanks a lot Stu for your advice. all the best, Dave (Stockport)
