i was just looking at camtech for example and they have a nikon D60 in mint condition for £299, or a D50 for £199, a wide range of canon (e.g 30D for £249), and (to keep jim happy) a few olys including a E520 with a double lense kit for £299 - admittedly none of these come with a long lense or memory cards, but you would still have arround 400 notes of your budget left which will get you a long lense s/h plus a couple of cards.
I like camtech because the specialise in preowned and have always been spot on in description - ie if they say its mint it really is in mint condition - but other places it is worth looking include mifsuds, ffordes, LCE, and T4

I'm sure other Olympus users will report similar experience.
Jim | I'll support Jim completely on this.
Between us, Anita and I own several Olympus E system DSLRs, these being E1, E500, E510 and E520.
In 3.5 years use, neither of us have experienced dust on any of the sensors.
I change lenses regularly on most outings, even on Northumbrian beaches in windy weather, it's not something I worry about.
The SSWF system was the main reason I chose to go with Olympus when buying my first DSLR, I believe it's still the best dust removal system on the market.
Too many people follow the herd, sometimes it's worth trying the alternatives.
