Should I get a Nikon D300?

Hope your liking your d300 Richard. I've had the same problem twice in maybe 4,0000+ images so hopefully its just a blip for you.

Funnily enough, both times not long after I got the new cards. Not happened again. Always format the cards in camera.

Congrats on the camera , am addicted to my D300 , much better for wildlife/birds .
Found the high iso not so good out of the box but when I turned the in camera sharpening down was much better . Love the custom screen to access your favourite settings ( I change from 14 to 12bit raw if I'm after fast moving creatures , I change the amount of lock on from time to time , use the dust remover before and after every shoot, I use commander mode for off camera flash and look at detailed battery info - as I worry about this- ) It is well sealed as I found out on a foolish expedition to go whale watching in a small boat in rough weather - thought it wouldnt survive as a wave dumped on us with only a fibre towel for protection - amazed it still works .
