| | | leica m8.2 rangefinder Hi all,
I have had an interest in photography for a few years now and was recently reading an article on the leica m8.2 rangefinder camera.
I thought these type of cameras where more or less defunct. Open any camera magazine and the topics usually either compact or dslr
The leica m8.2 retails at a whopping £3000 plus for the body only which left me astounded
Do any of you use one? Has anyone tried one? Would you recommend one?
And why are they so expensive?
regards mark..... |

| | | Re: leica m8.2 rangefinder There's a good article on SLR vs Rangefinder at Photozone.de, it comes down to: - Compact
- Quiet
- Great in low light
- Great optics

| Thanks for the reply charlieb and the link. It explains the workings of both quit well.
I wonder if the price is down to the camera possibly only selling in limited numbers
ie slr cameras are far more popular and the more a manufacturer can produce would help to keep production costs down.
The m8.2 at that price is a serious piece of kit and then you need a lense to suit and there not exactly cheap items either
many thanks |
