| | | Nikon DK-21M magnifying eyepiece I was thinking of getting one of these for my D80 & wondered if anyone had experience using one. I gather they magnify by 1.17 which doesn't sound a lot but is said to make a difference. They are also said to be not so good for people who wear glasses, which I do, although I take them off for maual focussing doing macro work so that wouldn't be a problem. |

| | | Re: Nikon DK-21M magnifying eyepiece Hi Peter,
I haven't used the DK-21M, and am not sure if this is of any interest to you, but I recently got a DR-6 right angle finder for my D80 (primarily for low level fungi shots etc.).
The DR-6 has a slider switch and can be used for viewing at either 1:1 actual viewfinder size, or 2:1 twice the image size.
The beauty of the device is that it also has a focussing adjustment so you can fine tune it dependent upon your own eyesight.
The major downside though, is the fact that it costs almost £200.00, so it might be completely over the top for what you actually need. EDIT - Just to clarify, the focussing is actually a dioptric adjustment to compensate for spectacle wearer's requirements. (I wear them myself).
Also, the information on Nikons website refers to the viewfinder's reproduction ratio as 1:1 or 1:2(which would be half life size), but it is definitely x1 and x2.
Regards
Mike.

| | | Re: Nikon DK-21M magnifying eyepiece LL - sounds interesting. I see you can get 3rd party ones for about £40 inc postage on a certain well known site. Magnification 1x and 3.5x.
They look OK ( in fact identical to the Nikon ) - I wonder if any one has any experience of these ? | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
