I suppose I'll have to use the Konika Minolta d7 and practice my macro techniques with the Tamron 90mm a bit more as the old camera body is no use for birding... think positive Mrs A !! I do believe the d7 performs very well on macro.

| | | Re: Predominantly Canon users? Last year I switched from Nikon to Canon, because Canon had the lens I wanted and Nikon didn't have an equivalent - certainly not at a price I could afford. I don't regret the switch and am very happy with my Canon gear. But - it all comes down to personal preference in the end.
Nikon stuff is pricier, but it does not mean it's better (having used both systems I don't think Nikon are better than Canon, or vice versa) it just means it's more expensive!

| | | Re: Predominantly Canon users? As someone whose been dithering over which dslr to buy for months now (will be grabbing a D90 at some point soon) it strikes me that a nikon to canon or vice versa converter would be useful.
I've just looked to see if they exist - and of course they already do - so i'm surprised they arent in wider use.
If they're good doesnt it anull the problem?
(apologies if this is a stupid point - total newbie to all this) |

| | | Re: Predominantly Canon users? There is not much between them (Canon Nikon) for results, but the Nikons have a quality feel to them.
The grip feels like a grip, safe, comfortable and secure you are in control. The controls are good, well made levers and buttons in the right places.
Nikon for me

(apologies if this is a stupid point - total newbie to all this) | Canon lenses on a Nikon body. That would be the best of both worlds.

Jim | Well, I have had equally terrible Nikon kit lenses.

1st digi KM 7d, didn't fancy a Sony.
Switched to a Canon 30D to date. eBay sells, helped save a bit of money.
Love my Canon 100mm macro.
