Hi People.
The local camera store has the Canon 300mm F4 non IS (SH) in the window.
I'm tempted, 'cos the lens has excellent reviews and the longest glass I have
at present is 70-200 F2.8 IS (plus 1.4x extender if req.)
It looks in pretty good shape and the guy has it marked up at £750.
Given that the non IS glass is discontinued (and, I believe, could be as old as
1997 theoretically,) I'm trying to figure if the guy is taking the mickey asking
for that money.
Wondered if anyone would care to offer comments? |

Just googled it, have a look. It's only a bit dearer for a new one. Buy Consumer Electronics at Simply Electronics

If its any sort of guide, I bought a two year old 300mm f4 IS a couple of months ago for £560 .00 . I really think that this guy is a wishful thinker, tell him you will call again when he has sobered up, is my advise.

On balance, I think I'll pass and await until a more realistically priced example hoves into view.
