| | | testing my new sigma 500mm Went out at 7.00am this morning to test my sigma 500mm on a pair of Bitterns that have been showing locally. No luck! But managed to get a few shots off in the back garden! Light was a bit grim but the Goldcrest made up for it!
oh, nearly forgot. All shots taken on D300,sigma 500mm F4.5 lens, iso 1000, F5-F6.3.
regards.

Is your lens a Sigma 50-500?

| | | Re: testing my new sigma 500mm Oh yes, how rude of me, I didn't even say how wonderful the shots where. They are nice and sharp- in fact I was Sigma 500mm and assumed you meant the Bigma in which case I would have asked you how you managed decent light at f/6.3 |

| | | Re: testing my new sigma 500mm Thanks for the comments everyone. The Sigma 500mm 4.5 was the best compromise between reach and cost. I think the equivalent nikon version is about £2000 more!
Shooting at ISO 1000 helps a bit with the light but roll on spring!!!!!
regards.
