| | | New SLR body Hey,
I need to pick people's brains about this one. I'm in the market for a new camera body. Something that will last a while so I can forget about having to upgrade when the next 2 models come out. Currently I'm using a Canon 30D but need something with better resolution.
The options I've considered are:
A 50D - good resolution, crop factor which is good for wildlife, all the new whistles and bells.
A s/h 5D - good track record with a great pentaprism. decent resolution but slow fps
A s/h 1Ds MkII - best of the three but more expensive.
Is it worth saving for the latter or will a 50D produce a 50MB tiff file?
Cheers,
Chris |

| | | Re: New SLR body At 10.1mp I'm not sure it creates big enough out put files. I could be wrong but I can afford to go up to a 50D anyway.
They're the only reasons I left it out.

| | | Re: New SLR body That makes sense Chris- I forgot about that. I suppose it makes a massive difference when you're printing etc. I'm not sure, but does the 1D MkII have auto focus problems or is that its big brother the MkIII? |

| | | Re: New SLR body I think that was the MkIII. The MkII is by no means a new model but it was the daddy for some time. With the MkIII and the 5D MkII out, prices for previous models are coming down and if I do something drastic like this, it'll make me work hard to reap the benefits.
The only argument is that to get the best out a 1-series body you should use the best quality lenses too. All in good time... I hope. |

Does anyone know how big a 50D tiff is? | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
