Jessops/kenko tubes which retain the TTL metering and aperture adjustment but not the AF can be had for arround 40 notes on tinterweb.

This I can confirm, as I have just this last week bought a set of Triplus tubes consisting of 12-20 and 31mm units for £44 .00 off our favorite site, they seem to be very good quality and do exactly what they are supposed to do.

Another thing I have just thought of, I dont know about Jessops or Kenco tubes as I have not used them but the 'Triplus' and also 'Panagor' tubes ( I have a 32mm Panagor ) do retain autofocus as well as metering and automatic apperture.

ooh, thanks for that. That sounds really reasonable. The ones I had seen on amazon were more like 129 quid. Can I ask which site you saw them on?

I would speculate that "our favorite site" is the four letter one begining with e

there are loads of decent traders on there doing sweet deals - but we arent allowed to give comercial recomendations on the boards so we cant highlight one in particular

I just had a look at my set of tubes they are the excellent Kenko tubes
With the full facilities you can use them with telephoto lenses as well
