| | | Advice on memory card Hu All
I had suprise today my good lady brought me a CannonEOS 450D , but it came without a memory card, the book says a SD or SDHC card is needed,
as a complete rookie, can someone kindly explain the difference please, and also recommend what would be best size card to get for camera.
thanks

| | | Re: Advice on memory card The SDHC is the newer format, enabling higher capcilty cards. As for size, if you intend to shoot in RAW format then the higher the capacity the better.
If not, a 4gb should be ample.
They come in different classes, class 2 is standard, class 4 high speed and class 6 Very High Speed. So class 6 sounds about right, especially as they're now quite cheap. 7 dayshop are doing a class 6 8GB card for only £9.99, no doubt other suppliers will offer similar. |

| | | Re: Advice on memory card If you get an SDHC card, make sure that your computer card reader is compatible. Some won't read SDHC cards, but Jessops (and other suppliers) do ones that read all cards. I had that problem when I had a Nikon D80 which took SD/SDHC cards.
4GB is a good size card but, depending on how much photography you do, you'll more than likely need more than just one. |

many thanks for that info,
Brian. |
