raynox macro DCR 250?

i'm looking at getting a new bridge digital camera, and one of it's main uses would be macro insect photography. i'm thinking of looking for a not-to-expensive but not-to-cheap macro lens that i could use with it. i have found the raynox DCR 250 on amazon. it gets good reviews there, but i was wandering if any WAB'ers use it and could give my advice.

I use a raynox macro DCR 150 on my panasonic fz7 and Ive been impressed with it. You have to put the f number up as high as possible on aperture priority mode and then move the camera towards or away from the object until its in focus but then you can get some great shots. I think Ive cropped this a fair bit but this water cricket was only 1cm in body length


Others on here have far better photos with the dcr 150. As for the dcr 250, Ive never used it but other have said it is tricky to use due the high magnification giving a small depth of field, but other say it s fine. hope thats helpful.

good on bridge camera with a long tele zoom (typically 28-380) - not so good with shorter length zooms.
