Thinking about it, it now seems such an obvious idea (given the popularity of digiscoping) it's only a wonder it's not been done before. Or are there already such systems out there?

There are some scopes with a built in camera, I remember looking at one a couple of years ago. Very expensive and not that good quality. If I remember right it only had a 2 or 3Mpixel camera and the quality wasn't that good. With the name Zeiss on it hopefully it will work well. No doubt the price will reflect that though!

The worst is the RSPB centre at Loch Garten. It's on a suspended wooden floor, with plinths so children can reach the telescopes and binos. Every so often a child will jump off a plinth and the whole floor will shake!

A friend of mine bought a Kowa scope-dSLR combo recently.
Got it for 500 smackers which was about half price.

Must say I was impressed when I tried it, very clear
piccies, but the mega-pixel count was low - about 3 I think.

No doubt there will be othes arriving soon which will help to
make them affordable.
