Hides that can be hired

Does anyone know of any hides that are up and down the land that can be hired? I've heard rumours of some that are closer to the 'action' than your regular hides which seem to be too distant for good shots.

Hi there,

As you say, most hides in this country are a bit too far away to get good images. There are places abroad (I have heard of a few locations) with purpose built hides for species such as osprey and black grouse plus many others. In this country, most of the hides 'for hire' will be with those who provide workshops and hides specifically for photographers. It's also worth checking on certain nature reserves as occasionally there may be something 'closer' for research work etc. (There are however, specific locations where certain species can be photographed much easier including waders, red grouse, peregrine and deer - let me know if you want more info. on these..)

Depending what you're after, the best option is to try and get access to land and set something up yourself. I have a couple of hides on 2 local farms where I am able to visit regularly.
