| | | Re: Canon body only? Hi JennyS,
As a fellow woman with small hands I use a Nikon D70 with Sigma 105 macro and sigma ring flash. For flower pics this proves excellent although it gets heavy after a few hours! A friend of mine bought a Nikon D40 which was considerably smaller and lighter so it might be worth looking at that? The first DSLR I used was the Nikon D1x - that was a beast - far too heavy for me - as is the D300...
Go round some different shops and try out the cameras with different lenses..l that will give you a good idea of whether you will be happy carrying sometrhing round for several hours! |

HW | Very true. Never be afraid to ask. Only fools stay schtum.
Before buying ask your self...
What do I want to achieve (photographically) ?
What can I reasonably afford to meet my criteria ?
Do I really need a DSLR to achieve my aims ? Quote: |
What I'm wondering is could I buy a Canon 20D or 40D body-only and still get good macro shots while I accumulate the pennies to eventually get additional lenses?
| If you really want a DSLR, then I would opt for a Canon 350D or 400D, or something similar; half the price of a 40D and if you look at the pics taken with these cameras in the galleries, results are extremely good. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
