For an F4 lens i was impressed with the shots, however in Galapagos there isnt ever an issue with low light, unlike rainy Scotland.
I took a shot of some parakeets coming into a salt lick, and had it blown up to A1 size, a bit of an abstract shot with wing blur etc lots of greens blues and yellows.
Id recommend the Canon to everyone.
A friend has the F2.8 IS version and it is a cracking lens, I used it at a wedding I did for a friend, and some of the portrait shots are stunning! |

I'm still haven't made my mind up if the IS version of the F4 is worth the extra.
Some have said that rather than buy the f4 IS it would be better to buy the 2.8 but weight is a problem .
At 66 I dont want to carry too much around the coast paths.
