| | | Nikon D40x vs. Fujifilm Finepix S2 Pro I am looking to buy a new DSLR very soon but am finding the choice all too much. My current camera Yashica AF 230camera must now be twenty years old and my Canon and Nikon AE1 even older.
The new Nikon D40x appears to be good value as a kit buy with two lenses, though I quite like the Fujifilm Finepix pro S series. It would be used as an all round camera, from panoramic shots thru portrait to close up macro as well.
May look to spend up to £800, though £500 would be better!
It's such a minefield out there, advice on the above two outfits welcome or better value for money DSLR's in the £500-£800 also appreciated.

| | | Re: Nikon D40x vs. Fujifilm Finepix S2 Pro I progressed from a fujipix to a nikon. Had the 5500, 4mp, and replaced it with a D80. Great true dslr and at over 10Mp plenty of scope for cropping in for those slightly distant subjects. D80 well within you're 500-800 budget. |

| | | Re: Nikon D40x vs. Fujifilm Finepix S2 Pro Think again! Two options of supplied lens.Standard 18-70mm, and a 28-135mm if I'm not mistaken. I bought the first, as the lens is a well respected product in its own right. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
