Service in Jessops varies a lot - ranging from total ignorance - downright lies & fraud to customers who know no better - to good helpfull service.

Thankfully my local Jessops staff are pretty good - but the next nearest I wouldn't buy a lens cloth from.

The best camera shop in my area - by far - is Mather's in Bolton. A dying breed - small independant shop - very helpful staff - and excellent prices. They have a big Ad in Amateur Photographer too so I can easily check prices.

Yup thats true it must varie quite abit between branches , but they wont be seeing my custom again thats for sure . Ill check out the lenses on ebay, i keeping forget about ebay lol

I have not had issues with Jessops, but in general I know exactly what I want. I would dread to think what someone who needs advice lands up with.

I live many hundreds of miles away from them but have purchased two second hand lenses from them and they arrived the next day and both in my opinion better than stated. I have spoke to them on the phone and there is no pressure they simply describe the condition and ask if you are interested, unfortunately Jessops cannot do this any more than Comet can advise you on HIFI.
