| | | problem with Camera Raw plugin etc Hi Folks. See if someone can solve this for me because I am little perplexed at the moment.
software=adobe photoshop cs3
camera=Pentax K7
pic format=PEF raw
Now, before I go into the problem at hand - I now use DNG format in my camera so as fro today I'm OK. the problem is historical.
When I first bought the K7 I was blissfully unaware of any issues concerning ACR plugins and support (or lack of) for specific cameras. I recently discovered that the maximum ACR version allowed by CS3 was 4.6 (which is what I am on) and that the K7 has a minimum of 5.7 (correct?). Anyway, this basically meant that I could no longer use PEF format in the camera when shooting raw. so, for the shots already taken I had to get teh Adobe DNG Converter progam. I have done so and successfully converted some of my shots. Since then, I had been out again but forgot about the PEF format setting in the camera. Now, here's the problem - the DNG converter will not convert my last batch of PEF files over to DNG !! (eh?). even though it converted the previous batch. (it says that it cannot successfully parse the files or something similar)
Problem is, if I cannot get to solve this...then I've lost my shots of a beautiful 'bluebells clearing' at Ryton Pools (damn n blast)
can anyone suggest anything please?
Gaz

A couple of ideas: Have you tried the software that comes with the program. You can use it to read the .pef files and export as jpg or .dng.
I've not used it but IrfanView is supposed to read and convert most files. MIght be worth a go as its a free download (google it). |
