| | | Blue pics... Why are my pics all blue..
Is it something to do with white balance is is normal or do I need to alter some of the settings.
There is a filter on the camera lens that came as a kit should I remove it..
Here are a few examples.
Its a canon 500D there are other pics that come out "normal" |

| | | Re: Blue pics... Looks like white balance to me. What have you got it set on?
I find auto deals with nearly all outdoor situations well, it's only indoors in artificial light that you should need to set it manually.
What type of filter is it you've got on the lens? |

| | | Re: Blue pics... The filters are just uv I set the white balance to sun as the sun was out or cloudy if there was cloud..
I will change it to auto and see what happens I also took these on the same settings.
It looks like its just the water shots. |

| | | Re: Blue pics... Looking at your waterfall shot, the camera was set to Manual(1). I think this is for Daylight, good light use. Your shot doesn't fit that description, being a long exposure. That's why I tend to leave mine on AWB for 99% of my shots! |

Bryan | Cheers but I would rather sort it before I take the pic as the gimp/elements 8, I find hard to get good results I am not sure what I am aiming for and just make things worse.
I did use the contrast/brightness and levels but that's about my limit. |

these are the settings I think the white balance might have been set on daylight and not changed to shade.
This is for the waterfall shot.
Camera Make: Canon
Focal Length Used: 70mm
Aperture Used: f/7.1
ISO: 100
Exposure Mode: Aperture-priority AE
Metering Mode: Multi-segment
Shutter Speed Used: 1/15sec
Flash: Off, Did not fire
Exposure Compensation: 0.0
I still dont quite understand what it all means yet.
I have reset the camera to AWB and until I understand it will stay there.
Thank you for all your help..

| | | Re: Blue pics... I was trying not to rush you Kayleigh mine is usually set at ISO 800 and I can see no real difference in my Fine.jpg images I do get higher shutter speeds which comes in handy but as the days get brighter I will try ISO 200
