Well this is my second and third nature shot, im enjoying this! I have asked santa for a slave flash as mine is only a £4.99 jobby with no control...but full manual is fun!!
Next mission is to photo a long tail tit, i have seen a gang frequent the same bush i shot these in very occasionally!!!
have fun people. any feedback welcome..
thanks SWS | Have a look down the back road by the Co-Op store in Keynsham there is a sub station surrounded by hawthorns in berry and you can hear or see Long Tailed Tits (if they are not up in my garden )

| | | Re: My very first wildlife photo Well done. A couple of lovely shots there.
The Robins are very photogenic. I have so many photos of Robins but just can't stop myself taking more when the opportunity arises. The Blue Tits are a little harder as they don't sit still for very long and it's the same with the Long Tailed Tits as well, so it usually means sitting and waiting for them to move a bit closer.
I have friends and colleagues that think I am a bit mad being out in all weathers, especially at this time of year but the results and enjoyment make it worthwhile. I usually get out to my favourite local patch - Tring Reservoirs - very early morning on a weekend all year round. The lighting early morning can just add a little extra to a shot, especially early spring. See image below - I like this shot a lot but it was the golden early morning light that really seemed to bring out the colours of the Grebe.
I haven't been at this long myself but it gets rather addictive and really brings out an appreciation of the natural beauty around us, when we take the time to stop and take it all in! |

| | | Re: My very first wildlife photo Hi
For first attempts, these look pretty good to me. There not easy birds to photograph at the best of times due to their habit of not standing still and with the light being as it is, albeit using a flash will make life a bit easier. Looking back through the replies, you have had plenty of good advice so you should be fine. |
