| | | Problems Posting Pictures I am a half decent photographer and naturalist but am useless with computing. I managed to get my seal up for my ID but have never successfully got a picture in the Gallery or anywhere else on WAB for that matter.
They always seem to go Ok but then are much too large to display and when I test then out there is no sign of them.
I use Photoshop as rule but have Epson and Cannon stuff on my computor as well.

| | | Re: Problems Posting Pictures In photoshop go to image then image size then change it to about 1000 pixels longest side and the go to save as and pick a medium quality (5-8ish).
You'll probably manage on the other programs with a similar method.
By doing save as then you still keep an original and can post the smaller version on here
Try it a few times and it becomes easier (I'd never resized anything before coming on here )

| | | Re: Problems Posting Pictures Like you, Dave, I'm fine with the digital editing but get hopelessly lost on the internet.
I usually resize my photos to somewhere between 800 and 1200 pixels on the longest side (you need at least 600 pixels on the short side for the 'best quality Gallery' but it doesn't matter in the Image Library) then set the resolution to 96 pixels per inch. Jpeg at 80 or 90% usually works well.
When doing substantial resizes I use the Best Quality image setting and give the image a slight refresh with a little Unsharp Mask afterwards.
One thing that sometimes catches me out is that I load the images into the Upload box then forget to click the Process Images button.
If you still have problems, come back with a list of what you did and we will try to sort out what is going wrong.
And this page may prove helpful http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/fo...otos-info.html

| | | Re: Problems Posting Pictures That is one of those strange and rather unexplainable items, Jim.
As I understand it; 72 ppi for US monitors but 96 ppi is the European standard.
And as it doesn't make that much size difference I usually opt for the higher setting. |

| | | Re: Problems Posting Pictures I am currently replying with a 12 week old Miniature Poodle on my lap. (really, I am)
I will try some of this when someone comes home to relieve me of Poodle duty.
Thanks for your help,
