| | | Re: Camera As an FZ30 user I would certainly recomend it. Remember that the cost of the body of a DSLR can use up all of your budget without the cost of a decent lens. The FZ30 has image stabilisation which means that you can dispense with the tripod if you so wish (cuts down on the weight) and there are a couple of lens additions TCon1.7 and the Raynox DCR150 which can be added at a later date if you find you want to get the longer reach with the TCon or do macro with the Raynox.
Have a look here Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30 Digital Camera - price comparison

| | | Re: Camera Hallo
I started off with a Panasonic FZ20 and went to a Panasonic FZ30 with an Olympus tcon17 teleconverter, plus a Raynox DCR150 for macro. Several people use this package, including Matt_XYZ whose results speak for themselves. The FZ30 is very versatile. I have recently bought a Canon 30D and 100-400 pump, but there is no way I will get rid of my FZ30.
Good hunting

| | | Re: Camera Great news, I got hold of a brand new Nikon D50 black lens kit (Nikkor 18-55 & 55-200, battery & charger etc), and a 512mb scandisk SD card, all for just £418 (Thanks Speckled wood for the DSLR lens kit idea).
Also had the new wheelchair delivered, so I have no excuse for not getting out in the fresh air and taking some snaps of trees and landscapes, and whatever nature crosses my path, and no need to carry anything heavy.
Happy new year to you all.

Adey | Looks like a good setup, interestingly whilst I was in Chester on Sunday looking at Camcorders I saw a Dual Lens Nikon D50 setup for around about £450, so you have done well. |

Adey | hi adey - just a quick thought , i was recently on a course where a wheelchair user was using a manfrotto hide clamp to attach the centre column of her tripod onto the arm of her wheelchair thus giving herself a really solid platforn to shoot from and better mobility than us walking folk who were encumbered with tripods - a top way of playing to your strengths - manfroto clamps are about 40 notes but cheaper makes are also available - Just an idea
