| | | Teleconverters Hi all,
As some may know i've got a Fuji Finepix s9500 and was wondering whether a telecconverter can be purchased for this? and also do they impact on the quality of the images much? |

| | | Re: Teleconverters I don't think the lens mechanism of the 9500 is designed to take a TC. I think you'd damage it. If you're desperate to try and don't mind risking damage to the camera, the Raynox 2020pro has a 58mm thread size so will fit straight on.

He bought a Nikon D50 in the end

| | | Re: Teleconverters I'm afraid I don't know whether your camera can take a teleconverter, but just to address the quality issue. There is a slight drop in quality, but if you get a good teleconverter this can be negligible. The photo below was taken with an FZ30 with an Olympus TCON17 teleconverter. There's still plenty of detail.

I am looking at the same thing but at the s6500fd.
At present got a S5000 TCon attaches to the lens convertor, and when motorised zoom extends it goes into the lens convertoe giving plenty of room.
Not sure how zoom works on 9500 or 6500fd but they both have 58mm thread, see attached
lot of good info on there Fujigroup : Fujigroup
I may have to look at other makes as want to upgrade poss panny fz30, as stated earlier in this thread Matt_xyz.
I would like to know more how TCON attaches to FZ30 and more about FZ30
Any advice
Cheers

| | | Re: Teleconverters the TCON17 attaches straight onto the FZ30's lens (it has a 55mm thread, the same as the TCON).
Here's a detailed review of the FZ30 DCRP Review: Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30
bear in mind it has now been replaced by the FZ50.

The Raynox range are much better, but of course cost much more. I was impressed with the 2020Pro I had with the FZ30. |

Thanks Matt,
Looked at the review, but what does it mean by manual zoom, is it like
the zoom in binoculars or does the lens extend outwards like a motorised zoom.
Sorry for being unsure
Cheers
