So far I am most comfortable with A mode, where I control the aperture and the camera the shutter speed, this is probably because I read it in a magazine over the weekend in response to a readers enquiry .
I have noticed that the electronic analog exposure display in the viewfinder shows as being one third over exposed, should I set this back to Zero. Is this a numpty question | It's quite acceptable to use aperture priority for wildlife.
When our weather and light is changeable or you're intent on following a running animal or BIF it's probably the most successful method to use. It's an aid to rapid response! We aren't always quick enough to be manually changing the in camera readings when there's action going on!
Further to a previous post - on board metering isn't always as accurate as a light meter and it's sometimes necessary to 'suck it and see' - especially in a situation of high contrast.
Enjoy yersen! Next thing it'll be 'I want a new lens' and 'I want a new lighting system' if you're owt like me! LOL
You read the manual FOUR times!!!!! I'm gobsmacked......

| | | Re: Newbie to DSLR I read the manual for the very basics, then subscribed to a good photo mag, (getting a free camera bag with the deal ). Settled on Aperture priority as my preferred option and got out snapping snapping snapping. The beauty of DSLR is that you can take hundreds of pics with no extra cost, so give it a go.
