| | | Finally, a kingfisher sat still! Well after many dawn starts and fleeting glances of the local Kingfisher over the past month, went to a reserve, walked in the hide and sat down. A Kingfisher arrives with minutes! Result!
Still won't give up on the local though. Will just have to scare the dog walkers before they scare my bird! Hiding in the bushes in full cam gear so they can only see my eyes seems to be doing the trick!
regards.
Stu.

| | | Re: Finally, a kingfisher sat still! thanks Adam/Bill. Makes me laugh, but, so frustrated! Spent so long locally staking out the Kingfisher with no luck. And then within five mins of walking into a hide get one! Seems mother nature has a sadistic sense of humour!
Guess thats what keeps us doing what we do!
regards.

| | | Re: Finally, a kingfisher sat still! One small thing I just noticed, the rest of the branch in the background seems too have an odd blurred edge, a sort of glowing fringe. Is that related to your recent problems at max apertures?

| | | Re: Finally, a kingfisher sat still! Well spotted Adam! Yep, thats what is happening. At apertures 4.5 and 5.6 its even worse!
Nikon keep saying its not the camera at fault, however this happens with my Nikon lenes too!
For the short term I might just hire another D300 to compare results!
regards.

| | | Re: Finally, a kingfisher sat still! surely it must be the camera if it happens with more than one lens in exactly the same way.
i'm sure if you kick up enough fuss, they'll do something.
have you taken it to a camera shop to see what they say?
