| | | Re: HDR Landscapes I personally like HDR pictures and really like both of these. If I were to pick one then I'd go for the first and would agree that the top left could do with brightening just a tad.
I think you've done really well to avoid sun flare and spots considering you are shooting almost directly at the sun.
I'd be really happy with both - remins me I must get out and do some 'scapes soon

| | | Re: HDR Landscapes I'm another who dislikes HDR - I've yet to see a "true" landscape HDR which I've liked but then landscape's all about the light and shadow. Interiors are a different thing and seem to work really well - but then shadows are not really wanted in the artificial environment
However, blending of multiple exposures is another thing altogether and is my preferred method |

Anyway, another couple from last nights visit to the "Salt Cellar". Not a great sunset to be fair and no wind at all meant death by midge , so these were more desperate grab shots and not enough attention paid to composition, had to just run for my life in the end
Lots of Grouse about the place though, you'd think they'd be keeping their heads down a bit more this time of year... |

| | | Re: HDR Landscapes that grouse is a fantastic shot
would you mind posting one of the original shots of the landscapes? it would be nice to compare and see which I prefer |

| | | Re: HDR Landscapes Thanks squish, so used to being buzzed by Grouse, tend not to take much notice of them, but I really should make the effort to get some decent shots of them while the heather is out.
Not sure what you mean about the landscapes, you want to see one of the individual images that make up the HDR? I can post one, but none are usable on their own, contrast is too high, hence the HDR. |

| | | Re: HDR Landscapes Final shot to demonstrate another interesting point.
If the colour HDR doesn't please, it's worth experimenting with black and white too. I'd never have thought such a colourful scene would work particularly well in monochrome, but it seems to. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
