upload one of the pics to our forum images Gallery then post it here and I will have a look for you. Alternatively if you would like to email it to me please send it to p.blyth"At"theparkstrust.com replacing the "at" with a @ sign (I have written it like this to avoid my address being picked up by spam bots etc)

| | | Re: Photoshop advice Cheer geordie but I cant open the attachement - it has come through as a .rar file which Photoshop refuses to open. If you could send it as a jpeg , tiff, or psd that would be good - incidentally what camera did you take it with ?

| | | Re: Photoshop advice Thanks for the second mail geordie - Ive got it now , as I suspected this is red (or in this case rather white) eye caused by the reflection of the flash back from the retina. In future you can avoid this by not firing the flash straight at the marten but instead bouncing it off a white surface or using a diffuser ( a cheap version is to stick the bottom of a plasic milk bottle, one of the translucent ones, over your flash gun)
I've tried a vareity of things in photoshop but this one has me beat. I tried the quick fix for red eye , no dice, i tried selecting the eyes and using levels to darken them - no that made em go blue, the only thing I can think of is to colour the white area black with a paint bucket then draw in the catch lights manually , but I havent got the time to do a convincing job.
I've interpolated the image up to 600x900 pix and loaded it into the forum images so that everyone else can see what we are talking about - may be one of our photoshop maestros on here can suggest something I havent thought of ?

Had a better try this time.
Select the eye, the magic selector will do as there's plenty of contrast. Select the paint brush and choose black, make the size slighly larger than the selection, and colour the whole eye black. Repeat for the second eye. When done, reverse the colour selection to white, make the size 3-4 pixels in this case, and place the flash reflection.

| | | Re: Photoshop advice from this little photo it looks like the eyes are just completely made of white pixels, and therefore cannot be salvaged....but it's such a nice picture otherwise, I'd be inclined to play with a few of the options in the filter Gallery and make a piece of art out of it.
