I once had it really bad and instead of going away as per usual it didn't. It went on for weeks and showed no sign of improving. The pain was so bad that I couldn't even bend far enough to put my socks on!
I thought I'd mention this as I eventually found my own cure. Although I doubt if your case will be the same....
As I said earlier, my bouts of sciatica usually only last a few days so this one had me really baffled. I was ready to try anything to make it go away so I started to rack my brains to see if I'd done anything different just before the pain started. Then I remembered something that should have been obvious all along.
Just before the pain started and when I had sat down in my favourite old armchair a spring broke. As it was an old chair and due to be chucked out soon I thought nothing of it at the time.
Big mistake! Unknown to me, the slight change in sitting position had caused all my pain. I found this out when I stuck a wooden board under the cushion of the chair. After only a few hours the agony turned to mild pain and then dissapeared altogether the next day!
I've been sat on a firm chair ever since
Hope your pain eases soon!
