I really hope a female turns up soon,our male has been constantly calling out using every tree in the whole area around here!
Sat out having a lovely spot of lunch & sparkling vino yesterday all lovely and peacefull ....except for.....yes Mr G Woodpecker!My darling husband did threaten to make a pie of him several times....he was only joking...he can't cook!!!

lol get him a cook book
all winter i've been trying for the pair but only managed the female, did'nt even see the male. today i did but it was at a distance. but i think im only going to be in the wood for the rest of the week then i'm moving on spring is in the air |

| | | Re: Great spotted woodpecker Lovely shot. I think the 300f4+ converter with the 40D is a great combo and light enough to handhold and carry around all day.I'm a small woman and it was the answer for me. Just upgraded to the 50D (Error 99 issues with my40D) and the 50D really loves this lens.

I have seen many a great pose by lovely birds but it's always the best one's that seem to only do them when the sun is right next to them or behind them.

I think the Dorset Fire Service has enough to do with heath fires without my husband learning to cook !
Mr G Woodpecker is still around but not quite so bad today!
