I have heard that you can get a recumbent (a name I have just learnt) with a pre-fitted monopod stem and wimberley (is that correct?) head attached. The trick apparently is to ride directly towards a goose or duck flying straight at you and achieve an in focus shot of the bird in flight. Mind you, seeing this contrivance bearing down on the bird, might make it turn tail and flee- still an interesting shot to try - something about disappearing up a focal length?
Or I am being silly?
Or did I see such a thread on another forum?

When it finally konks out I think I may go for an EOS 1D mkIII, might as well cut out the middle ground models and go straight for the "rolls royce" model. | As I said earlier Steve, the 20D is better in AIServo mode than the 40D. I wouldn't buy a MkIII though. According to pro testers I've read that model still has AF issues, especially in situations I've been testing my 40D on, i.e. head on shots. Many many thousands of users don't seem to find any problems with it, but only last week Canon announced a call in to fix an AF problem with that range. I suppose it comes down to how often you use it in the area it appears to be weak.
I am still considering a Mark II. I've lost two recently by hesitating. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
