aperture priority is good for shots like this.
what camera is it you have? i have a fujifilm bridge (the S9600).
one of the slight downsides of bridges is the worse performence at higher ISO's, i know that i would struggle to get a good quality picture at ISO 800 (though a that level they do still look ok as long as you dont zoom in or crop

).
if you can, use a higher aperture for close up's, like F/8 or F/11.
that is a great capture, none the less!
for editing, i would up the saturation and contrast, and down the brightness, sharpen a bit, maybe down the shadow and up the highlight abit to
