| | | Robin picture The OH just very very kindly bought me a Nikon D60 ( my first camera ) and I've been happily snapping all the activity in the garden.
He reckons this shot is pretty good , what does everyone else think.
Thanks - Gill |

I don't think that you can go wrong with Robins, they're such beautiful birds and so inquisitive.

| | | Re: Robin picture Hi Gill,
well if it's your first camera and this is one of your first shots then it's a damm good shot. Just think what you'll achieve after you've practiced with it for a while
Nice, well done!

| | | Re: Robin picture Nice composition, spot on exposure and bags of detail in the feathers - very well done!
There is a wee bit of chromatic abberation on the top of the head when viewing the full size image but that's the lens, not you. Pretty much all lenses produce a bit of CA with a subject against a bright background like this. The lenses that control it best cost thousands. Some software packages have tools for getting rid of it.

| | | Re: Robin picture Hi there. The Robin was shot on my 70-300mm VR zoom. Distance was about 8ft. This image was a jpeg straight from the camera, cropped and pp in photoshop and noise ninja'd.
We're off to Grigin Farm in Wales at the weekend so Gill has use of my 300mm f4. Keep an eye out either for some cool pics or a miserable Stu having watched Gill drop his new purchase!!!!!
regards.
